The Milestone Event Proxy by Milestone Systems can receive input events triggered by external systems or by XProtect� software. The input events can cause an output event to be sent to external systems or to trigger an event in XProtect. External systems can trigger input events on TCP or UDP requests, and output events can be sent to external systems on TCP, UDP or serial port.
The Milestone Event Proxy can be used:
- As a filter, only sending events in case a secondary source confirms the existence of an event
- As an enabler, allowing supported XProtect software to receive events it was not previously able to receive
- To map events from different systems and, if needed, to reformat and invent strings
- To build complex event scenarios where several separate inputs are used to create a new event
